Google Webmaster Tools Adds Manual Action Penalty – Image Mismatch

Google rolled out manual action viewer in Google Webmaster Tools this past summer to let site owners know when a manual penalty action had been taken against their site. This week, reports of a new type of manual action alert have surfaced in manual action viewer – “image mismatch.”

Results Of SEMPO Survey Shows Search Marketing Salaries Have Dropped Nearly $7,000

Published last week, SEMPO’s fourth annual salary survey revealed the average search marketing salary dropped from $75,543 to $68,600.

French Court Orders Google To Remove Max Mosley Images From Search Engine Results

After making a public plea for the European courts to dismiss a lawsuit filed by former Formula One president Max Mosley, Google found out today the French court has ruled in favor of Mosley and is forcing the search engine to censure search results.

Google Whipped by Censorship Ruling in Max Mosley S&M Case

After a lengthy battle in a French court over unwanted S&M pictures showing in Google search results, former president of Formula One racing Max Mosley beat Google in a ruling that said the search engine was to “remove and cease, for a period of five years beginning two months after this decision, the appearance of nine images,” Reuters reported.

Google Maps’ Mobile Reach Drops In September — comScore

Yesterday, comScore’s US smartphone market share figures for September came out. There weren’t many surprises — except for one thing: the Google Maps app has fallen three spots in comScore’s rankings.
